January 2019 Update

This month the first Game Theory Academy class of the year kicked off at Oakland International High, which serves newcomer refugee and immigrant students. As they adapt to the United States, strong financial knowledge and the skills to make good decisions in our complex and overwhelmed-with-choice economy, will serve them well. In February we start a class for teen moms enrolled in a college savings program for their children. We have other partnerships in development.

Game Theory Academy is smaller than we were a year ago, now operating without an office or full-time staff, but continuing to serve partners in our community that seek financial and decision-making skills for their students. We receive new inquiries each month, but the organizations and schools serving the most vulnerable teens have the lowest ability to pay the cost of what we do. This is where YOU can make a difference. Your support is essential. Please keep Game Theory Academy in your giving plans by making a donation today.

In 2018 we served 125 teens via partnerships with Mt. Diablo High, Oakland Promise’s Brilliant Baby Program, WestCoast Children’s Clinic, Leadership Public Schools, and Oakland International High. We managed a successful transition of the WOW Farm program and assets to two great organizations: Acta Non Verba and Beyond Emancipation. And we set the stage for a new era, and ongoing community service.

Thank you for your investment in youth financial capability!

Warm wishes,
