The Oakland Treasure Hunt is a unique urban sleuthing adventure played on the streets of downtown and uptown Oakland. Teams have three hours to solve clues leading to unique locations including obscure landmarks, forgotten architectural delights, and vestiges of Oakland’s rich history.
Players are organized into teams, typically of four to six people, though you can compete with a smaller team if you choose. You can participate with friends and coworkers, or volunteers will pair you with an existing team or other individuals at the event. It’s a great way to meet and share a fun experience with new people.
Teams are organized into four divisions:
Expert Division: For returning hunters including Chinese New Year veterans
Novice Division: For newcomers
Student Division: For students ages 14-20
Family Division: For parents and their (under 18) children
Prizes are awarded for top teams in each division. You could win cakes and champagne or gift cards for museums, breweries, and rock climbing gyms! Even Warriors tickets!
Team Name Contest:
Players are organized into teams, typically of four to six people. Winners will be awarded for the best team name. Teams enter their team name when they create a team and purchase tickets on Eventbrite.
Most Creative Costume Contest:
Dress up your team for the Most Creative Costume Contest. Winning teams will have their photos posted on the Oakland Treasure Hunt website and social media pages!
