An ambitious goal

We are almost there! Thank you to everyone who has given so far.

On #GivingTuesday we raised $11,880: we are now less than $1,200 away from our goal!

Donate today to get us to 100% before the end of the year. Learn more about our impact.

On September 1st, Game Theory Academy set out to raise $50,000 to match a challenge grant from the Quest Foundation to help us grow. Believe it or not, we can double the number of youth we serve next year by increasing our budget by just 25%.

Game Theory Academy has received three dozen inquiries since January 1, from schools and agencies – workforce, arts, empowerment, and foster youth – for financial workshops. These agencies pay a stipend or wage and are concerned about youth accessing banking products safely, and developing habits to spend money wisely. Many have been unsatisfied with bank volunteers, yet their staff is not trained in finance.

In the past we have encouraged groups who make these inquires to send youth to us, but this is not realistic for everyone because of transportation, schedules, or youth motivation. In fact, the hard truth is that youth who are in most need of the financial survival skills we teach at Game Theory Academy are least likely to take the initiative to come to us. The funds we raise this fall will support staffing and curriculum development to  double the number of youth we serve annually through abridged workshops that address immediate skills in banking safely, building credit, setting goals, and aligning their financial assets with those goals. We aim not just to give them skills and facts, but to pique their interest and empower them to seek out financial information and ask questions long beyond their time with Game Theory Academy.
